On January 4th this Handsome little devil turned ONE! Yes, that's been nearly three months ago but I couldn't not document how much we adore this little guy. He wasn't sure about the heat coming off that birthday candle, or the fact that I sat an entire cake on this highchair tray but he eventually warmed up to the whole idea.....
He's a keeper I tell you. He is the first of our children to take his time walking. He finally decided to make a go of it about two month after his birthday, and hasn't slowed down since.
He loves, loves, loves to be outside. If he so much as hears a door open he comes full speed ahead to escape. He sneaked passed me just he other day as I was unloading groceries and was half way down the driveway before I got to him. He loves going on walks, hiking in the backpack, riding bikes to the park and any kind of water!
He is well loved, or at times "over loved" by his siblings. There's rarely a dull moment when he's not being poked, prodded, dragged, hugged, kissed or carried somewhere. That may be what has lead to the high-pitched scream I'm eager to have eradicated from his attention getting arsenal. However inspite of that scream, he's a chubby little blessings who brings joy to our family every single day.
Number 5 has not always been a cake walk. I'm more aware now than ever that I can't meet everyones needs at the same time- but I'm learning that's the beauty of it. Ty, Brooklyn and Cache are stepping up in big ways to help out and the blessings and growth are evident. I've seen my children be far more aware of the whole family, and less concerned about themselves lately. Not that it's happiness or perfection all the time- but I'm seeing first hand the benefits of a larger family and loving it. I'm so grateful for little Mitt.....we're still "Smitten" in every way!
