In January we ventured up the canyon for some winter fun. We went tubing at Soldier hollow, but the best part of the day was when we pulled off the road on a whim and decided to walk out onto the frozen lake. I have to be honest, I was a little terrified! I was brave for the camera and then quickly made our way back to solid ground. The others stayed on the ice for what seemed like forever playing catch, running, sliding and having fun. It was a grand adventure for a little family who'd never walked on ice before!
We celebrated Cache's 6th birthday with a "drive-in-movie" friend party.
Skiing, lots of skiing. The kids skied 8 Saturdays in a row, and i think it was a success! If nothing else they're BIG fans of Snowbird .....apparently Snowbird has way better food than Brighton, because clearly that's the most important thing about a day on the slopes.... the food ?
Tatum and I got to go sledding together for her pre-school field trip. I can't even express how delightful it was to spend time with just her doing something so exhilarating! It made me realize how often we do nothing together besides house work and run errands, I'm not ok with that...changes are under!!
This year Kevin and I got put in charge of decorating the community bridge. It was not even funny how much we struggled in the 20 degree weather to string lights and garland on that thing. No matter what we did, we could not get it to light up. Finally we give up and hired someone who had the whole bridge lite up in less than 20 minutes. Just a little humbling to once again realize how NOT "handy" we are! We were still proud of our efforts, and loved to see it through the window all season long!
After skiing that many Saturdays in a row, we were ready for some sunshine. We escaped to St. George the first weekend in March for a little "pre-spring break" vacation to the warmth and red rock! We found another new favorite hike that we'd never been on before, which means the trip was a success!
Just a few happenings ........
