We've had a fun filled summer......the problem is school starts tomorrow and I haven't documented a single thing we've done. That's so stinking lame of me. I don't want my life to go by and me not remember all the fun things, and not so fun things this cute family of mine experienced. So before I can post any "Back to School" pictures, I'm going to recap a few of our summer happenings.
Utah Valley Marathon. Again.
This is the second year in a row Kevin's run this race the frist weekend in June. I'm thinking it's a new tradition for us to high tale it down to University Avenue and sit on the curb waiting for our dad to cross the finish line. As always, he did a great job!
After the race we all soaked our feet in the pond....well, some soaked more than their feet!
We've really taken to hanging out at the neighborhood pond this summer. When we moved here I never dreamed I'd step foot in the water, but it's quick become one of our favorite things to do on a lazy summer afternoon.
Next, we drove to Oceanside to spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa Dowdle at the Wyndam Resort. We spent time on the huge peir, played for endless hours in the sand, laughed with cousins, swam in the pool, and soaked up all flavorful diversity that we're sometimes lacking here in Highland, Utah. It was a fun and relaxing trip, we LOVED it!
Brooklyn and Ty both LOVED the wated this year. Especially Body boarding and body surfing. We literally couldn't get Ty to come out...I was more than concerned on several occasions because Ty would be half way down the beach with the waves taking him further and further away without him noticing. I feel sick that I don't have a single picture of him in the water!
Things to remember:
-People staring at us as we walked down the hall to our room, asking if ALL these kids were ours?!!
-Playing water games with the kids in the pool that over looked the ocean.
-The Awesome Marine helicopters that flew up and down the shoreline multiple times a day from Camp Pendelton. (My dad was stationed there at one time, so I thought it was EXTRA cool)
-The kids all crashed on the hide-a-bed with their pillow pets exhausted from a hard day of playing.
-Jogging with Kevin in the mornings.
-Going to church and it was so crowded with vacationing visitors that there was standing room only, and feeling so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and that no matter where I am on vacation I can go to church and it will always be the same. LOVE IT!
