The sun is streaming through my windows this morning..... it's amazing what sunshine does for my soul. It rejuvenates me, fills me with optimism and beckons me to be productive. Not to mention baby Mitt loves to sit in his chair and sleep in the warmth of it coming through the window.
I went back to the gym this morning. It was my goal to go back in 4 weeks, February 4th. I was a day late and apparently several dollars short- it seriously kicked my butt! Super humbling experience, but still felt good to move my body and push myself. Man alive I love to workout! I missed it so much.
I finally took the Christmas wreath off our front door yesterday. About time right?
While I was at it I showered the house with love, and pulled out the mail boxes we use each February to put our notes to each other in.
The kids were so excited and immediatly started writing notes to each other. It freaks me out how giddy I get when I see my kids embrace traditions, excited about them year after year. Ty wrote the sweetest note to Brooklyn....
For a 7 year old girl to get that from her brother (who she's rarely even nice to) was super inpactful. She was in her bed re-reading it when I went to tuck her in. Baby steps right? They will end up good friends right?
I had to delete Netfix off my phone on Sunday. You know you're addicted to Alias when it takes you exactly the length of an episode to nurse your baby, and your totally ok to get up several times at night to nurse because it means you can watch a couple more episodes. It's tuesday and I still miss it. I keep thinking about Sydney Bristo like she's a real person I might run into at Costco- that's how I know it was the right choice. I hate giving up my vices.
Lately I've had this all encompassing feeling that I need to be documenting my family better. I used to scrapbook a lot. I still have a few albums I continue to keep up. Each kid has a "School of Life" album I update each year, as well as our Halloween and Christmas albums. However I've been doing a lousy job of documenting daily life. I'm hoping to do better and to be honest I'm a little freaked out by the sense of urgency I feel.
So in light of doing just that, here's what we've been doing lately. COLORING!
I'm a coloring book purest. I only like coloring books with white pages. So when I found these Melissa and Doug coloring books at Target I bought one of each. I figured with the sub zero degree temps outside they'd provide inside entertainment..... I had no idea how much the kids would LOVE them!
I mean like hours of coloring over here..... It's been lots of fun.
Happy "sunny" tuesday.

Your post was a ray of sunshine to my soul today. Thank you. And it took me as Long to read your blog as it was to feed Zindy :).

I love seeing Mitt basking in the sunlight. It is good for my soul! Also, no thanks for the reminder of Alias. I have been up way too late since talking and am in need of a little detox myself. The kids might not like me if I delete Netflix from every TV!
