Lately.

Lately life's been happening;

Lately Ty's been really intrested in drawing. He checked out a drawing book at school and has been spending his free time on the deck drawing. At first I was disappointed he wasn't checking out books he could "actually read," but I've had a change of heart as I've watched him enjoy a new hobby and put so much effort into his drawings. 

Lately I've been spending A LOT of time with this cute thing...in all honesty she's killing me. She's busy, busy and without her brothers and sisiters around she needs constant attention. We cook, we do laundry, we red books, watch Mickey Mouse, SHE climbs on counters, spills everything that is liquid and on rare occassion she sits motionless on the kitchen floor and devours the American Girl Catalog that came in the mail. She was so still and content I had to take a picture. If only a new catalog came every night at dinner time....Just think how much I could get done! Love her:)

Lately we went to our first BYU football game of the season. As always the kids loved the cannon, and army guys doing push-ups, I loved the cheerleaders and beautiful surroundings, and I think Kevin watched the game. It's such a fun time of year, Go Cougars!!!! 

 
Lately Kevin and I rented the Hunger Games. We've wanted to see it forever, and finally found an evening to sit in bed and watch it on my laptop. It was so good and inspired a complete re-read of the series. I read all three books in two weeks. It was a nice evening escape from my recent "tired all day" pregnant existance.

Lately the kids have been playing outside in the yard after dinner. The last couple nights Brooklyn has dressed up in different "interesting" outfits and hiked around in the woods trying to tame the deer. It is darling to observe. She walks throughout the brush singing and waving sticks. It warms my heart.

Lately there's been a lot of deer around. They're young deer, babies from last spring. We just got word that the city will be reducing the size of the herd, so I figured I'd get a picture before they're not around anymore, I will miss them in our yard each evening. 

Lately I've been working on canning peaches. It's a learning curve. Every year I do something wrong. This year they all sealed-which is an improvement on last year- however I didn't fill my bottles as much as I should have in this batch. It's a good thing I have years to perfect the skill....

Lately we've been playing soccer on Saturday mornings, working in the yard, doing homework after school, packing home lunches, sitting down around the table for dinner, keeping track of politics, waiting for the season premier of our favorite shows, wearing a lite jacket on evening walks, fitting into fewer clothes with every passing day, and planning birthday parties...... 

I want to remember everything we've been doing lately. It's just been life as usual, and that's such a good thing!
